First trailer for Steve Coogan's new US TV series 'Happyish' - watch

The first trailer for Steve Coogan's new US TV series Happyish has been released.

Coogan stars opposite Kathryn Hahn (Girls, Parks And Recreation) and Bradley Whitford (The West Wing, The Mentalist) in the dark comedy series from US author/essayist Shalom Auslander. Happyish was originally due to star Philip Seymour Hoffman before the actor's untimely death last February (2014).

The official synopsis teases: "Coogan stars in the lead role of Thom Payne, a 44-year-old man whose world is thrown into disarray when his 25-year-old "wunderkind" boss arrives, saying things like "digital", "social" and "viral". Is he in need of a "rebranding", or does he just have a "low joy ceiling?" Maybe pursuing happiness is a fool's errand? Maybe, after 44 years on this ludicrous planet, settling for happyish is the best one can expect."

Happyish is set to premiere on April 26 on US cable network Showtime, also home to Masters Of Sex, Homeland and Nurse Jackie. UK broadcast details are currently unknown.
