Hugh Jackman has hinted that the next solo Wolverine film will be his last appearance as the claw-sporting mutant.
Jackman is due to start shooting a sequel to 2013's The Wolverine early next year for a planned 2017 release. Director James Mangold will once again be behind the camera.
In an Instagram post yesterday (March 29), Jackman shared a picture referencing Wolverine's retractible claws with the caption: "WOLVERINE ...ONE LAST TIME. HJ"

Mangold then responded to Jackman's post on Twitter, writing: "Can't wait to make this, HJ! Been toiling quietly a while now!

Jackman first played Wolverine in 2000's X-Men and has now notched up six appearances as the popular comic book character: four in X-Men films and two as the star of standalone Wolverine movies. He is expected to reprise his role in next year's X-Men: Apocalypse, which director Bryan Singer is due to start shooting in Toronto next month (April), but this has yet to be confirmed.
