Actress Rose McGowan says she was raped by a Hollywood studio boss

Getty Actress Rose McGowan has revealed that she was raped by a top Hollywood executive.

McGowan, known for her roles in Charmed and Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's Grindhouse, as well as for her activism, shared her story on Twitter last night (October 14) using the hashtag #WhyWomenDontReport.

The hashtag has been trending on Twitter since Thursday (October 13) after several women came forward to accuse Donald Trump of sexual assault.

"a (female) criminal attorney said because I'd done a sex scene in a film I would never win against the studio head #WhyWomenDontReport," McGowan wrote in her first tweet, adding in her second: "because it's been an open secret in Hollywood/Media & they shamed me while adulating my rapist #WhyWomenDontReport."
