Rolling Stone Brazil The extended cut of Suicide Squad released on digital HD next month will feature an additional 13 minutes of footage, Warner Bros. have confirmed.Fans disappointed by the poorly-received blockbuster are already speculating that the extended cut, which will drop on digital HD on November 11 before getting a Blu-ray release on December 13, could feature more of Jared Leto's Joker.
Leto's character is a peripheral feature for much of the movie that played in cinemas over the summer, but the actor has revealed that he shot lots of footage which director David Ayer and the film's producers ultimately decided not to use.
"I understand [this Suicide Squad film] is a bit of an introduction to The Joker. It's more of a supporting part than it could have been, had they used everything – but there's a method to [the filmmakers’] madness," he told NME in August.
One moviegoer was so frustrated by the lack of Leto in the Suicide Squad theatrical release that he even threatened to sue Warner Bros. for false advertising.
